  • movement.

Trends have been gradually changing....but have I been the only one to notice how revealing outfits have become on stage and for performances?

It seems to me many singers and other celebrities that perform are trying to one up each other constantly through what they wear. In doing this they are beginning to lose individuality.

It is interesting to me, in trying to achieve individual style to attract attention...the styles all resemble one another and therefor begin to lack individuality.

This is what I am talking about...

Lady Gaga has caught the world's attention. With her remarkably brave outfits, incredible voice and talent in music, she has truly become an idol.
Her fans ("little monsters" as she calls them) are extremely loyal and Lady Gaga is THE best-paid celebrity ($90 million)!
What I want to point out here though...is her eye for fashion.....she set out to show off her individual style.
Gaga has multiple wardrobe changes each show;  what bothers me is how so many outfits resemble lingerie. Now everyone wants to do the same?....

The latest from Britt. (look familiar?...)

And Rihanna has been discovering new ways to show some more skin too. Her outfit resembles some of Lady Gaga's...

Miley Cyrus has been experimenting too....she is younger than I am.....I suppose to keep up with trends, she too
needs to wear less and less. Sad?
What will be seeing on the stage in the next year?? Really, we have no idea. Perhaps watching the fashion channel and seeing the new creations that designers are coming up with will give us some idea. Personally, I don't like where it is going. From see-through dresses, chains and tape, to lingerie and stiletto's higher than Barbie could wear. Make-up worn on stage can be worn in the streets, painting a face rather than simply enhancing our (already individual) natural features. We can look as fierce and as bold as we want to, and we don't have to care. It's a movement. I felt better about the classy, subtle, sex appeal that actors and singers used to exhibit. Mmmmm...just a really big thought. If you happen to have any comments, anything to add, go for it! :)

(I think Selena pulled off this cute number without showing too much leg, stomach, boob and other area's we really shouldn't have to see to enjoy her music....)
